The following is a list of representative artists currently in the bar for the time being.
Records owned by the bar are posted daily on google map on our bar page under "What's New".
I was greatly influenced by the records I bought and the artists I met when I was in junior high and high school, and eventually ended up running a bar that played music on vinyl.
Artists who have helped define my life are THE BEATLES & Paul McCartney, Paul Weller, THE WHO, David Bowie, and the Japanese rock musician Panta. I have been influenced by a variety of artists they have recomended, music they listened to, music of their contemporaries, music in movies they were in, etc. And it is a collection that is still in its passage at this point in time.
The defining feature of my record collection is that most items are original pressings from their release era.
For records released before 1977 especially, there's a clear sonic difference between reissues and originals. So for rock and pop, I hardly own any Japanese pressings (to be precise, I used to own them but sold them after buying the originals).
However, Japanese pressings from around 1977 onward sound excellent. This is because Victor had superb pressing machines, producing exceptionally high-quality pressings that were praised worldwide. Pink Floyd's
“The Wall” apparently sounds best on its Japanese pressing.
The sound of The Beatles' first album “PLEASE PLEASE ME,” released in January 1963, still gives me goosebumps when I drop the needle and hear them sing. It makes me feel like I'm back in London in 1962.
※I have in my possession records mainly from the 60's to the 80's. In all, I have about 4,500 LP records and 2,500 single records.
In broad genres.
British and American rock and pop from the 60s to the 80s, about 2500 on LP, some major and some not so famous.
There are also about 150 LPs of British rock and acid jazz from the 90s, 100 LPs of soul music from the 60s, 100 LPs of soul and dance music from the 70s, 50 LPs of jazz funk, 50 LPs of The type of (danceable!) jazz that British Mods loved in the 60s, and about 200 pieces of movie soundtracks from the 60s to the 80s. That's roughly about it. The same ratio applies to single records.
There are about 200 Japanese rock & pop albums, but almost no Japanese CITY POP. The genre classification of city pop is a recent one, and I don't know what city pop is. Opinions differ depending on the country, media, and person.
☆ Records I recently bought.

The 60's American Garage is being strengthened. Influenced by the Beatles and the Stones, there were many beat groups in various cities in the U.S. Many 70's punk bands were also influenced from here.
Please experience the world of beat rock that continues in the veins and the origin in sound.
Of course, I own most records by major artists. However, I don't own any by Love.

DURAN DURAN、MEN AT WORK、TOTO、BANGLES、産業ロック、サントラ等、列挙しきれないあの曲この曲あります。概ねアルバムで200枚前後、シングルで150枚前後。
DURAN DURAN, MEN AT WORK, TOTO,BLONDIE, BANGLES, Tears for fears ,JOURNEY ,FOREIGHNER ,HUMAN LEAGUE ,progressive hard rock, soundtracks, etc. There is this song and that song that cannot be
enumerated. There are generally around 200 albums and 200 singles.
We generally have their hit singles and signature songs.
By the 90's, I was into soul music like Curtis, Danny Hathaway, Sly, Funkadelic, etc. and the latest Japanese music (although I don't like 80's pop songs called “city pop”), so I wasn't into the latest rock and pop music as much as I had been. I was not so interested in rock and pop music as I had been before. Moreover, it was difficult to obtain British and American records in Japan. Another reason was that most record pressing companies in Japan stopped in 1989.
I bought some of the records from the 90's onward, and even bought a few reissues of some of them. I have no way of knowing about recent music. (I don't use Spotify or anything like that, and I don't watch You Tube.)
All I have is what I see and hear in record stores.
I have only one or two copies of each artist, but there are some great, if not famous, ones. If you want to listen to such songs, please indicate this item.
Recently, I have been buying records with these sounds to fulfill requests.

☆Note: Regarding Modern Jazz Requests
This bar's records mainly consist of rock and pop music. Over 90% of requested songs are from these genres.
If you wish to request a modern jazz song by artists such as Coltrane or Miles Davis, it is best to fill in the artist's name and the approximate year of the song on the request form. This is because we only have about 100 jazz records in stock, and in most cases, we will have to tell you that we cannot provide the requested song. Also, while I like modern jazz, I don't know much about it myself. Well, even with soul music from the 70s, I only own all of Donny Hathaway's records.
It depends on what songs are requested by all the customers present at the time (and we often take additional requests from customers who have made reservations), but modern jazz, especially by artists like Miles Davis and Coltrane, has a very different atmosphere from rock, funk, and soul music. Because we need to create the right atmosphere for modern jazz, it takes quite a bit of time to play.
During busy times, we often have to decline jazz requests because we receive many requests for other genres. I don't think jazz music fits immediately after Led Zeppelin, the Eagles, or Creedence Clearwater Revival (or rather, I don't want to play jazz at those times). I need to play a few songs to change the atmosphere before playing the requested song, and then play a few more songs to change the mood before playing the next requested song, such as The Beatles or The Rolling Stones.
It's possible when there are fewer customers or late at night after most customers have left.
To be honest, for customers who only like modern jazz, there are many specialized bars that I would recommend. Of course, I also like modern jazz, and that's why I want to carefully create the right atmosphere when playing it, but I get bored playing only modern jazz. It doesn't mesh well with other requested songs.
| Astrud Gilberto | Walter Wanderley |
| Sergio Mendes |

I think there are about 10 albums in total, and about 10 singles as well.

As a store that plays music, we pride ourselves on having a fairly large selection of soundtracks. We also have some rare ones, so please request them and we will always be happy to sit down with

I own a total of over 200 soundtrack albums from famous movies spanning the 1960s to the early 1980s.
The James Bond series,
American New Hollywood (Easy Rider, Midnight Cowboy, etc.),
musicals (The Sound of Music, My Fair Lady, etc.),
Spaghetti Westerns (Morricone!),
various American Westerns,
and from the 1980s:
Footloose,
Top Gun,
Streets of Fire,
Ghostbusters,
Flashdance,
and so on.
Goodbye, thank you Sean Connery. And 007.
Without him, I would not have been interested in 007 films. And if I hadn't met 007, I wouldn't have been interested in PAUL McCARTNEY (theme from the film 'Live and let die') and my taste in music might not have been so deep and wide. So this shop, too, would not have been there.
In that sense, I give him my deepest thanks.

Depending on the day, it can turn into a Japanese rock and pop competition.
My main focus is PANTA, so please understand that there isn't much rock or 60'S Japanese rock outside of that. I have a little Yazawa, but nothing that could be called city pop. I only have some Yamashita Tatsuro from his funk-heavy period.

However, there were many hit songs (kayo-kyoku) in Japan from the 1960s to the early 1980s. Kayo-kyoku were songs written by professional songwriters for singers signed to record companies and
became hits. In Japan, kayo-kyoku was the main source of hit songs until the early 1980s. What is now called city pop is, I believe, a new movement that emerged after the 1960s songwriters
retired, incorporating American West Coast sounds and creating a sound that felt new at the time. In Japan, it was called new music at the time. I own many hit singles from that era called new
music.
Furthermore, the backing bands for popular songs from the 1960s to the early 1970s were comprised of highly skilled musicians who had played jazz for American soldiers every night in Yokosuka.
The backing sound is also worth listening to.
We have many single discs in the above categories. If you want to hear them in better sound, please request them. You will enjoy the powerful sound that only a single can give you, which you cannot feel on an album.
You will also be surprised at the fresh sound of the last song on the single, which tends to sound muffled on the album.
